Tate Brothers Charged with Rape and Human Trafficking

Andrew and Tristan Tate, dual residents of the United States and the United Kingdom, have been charged with rape and human trafficking by UK prosecutors. The Crown Prosecution Service announced the charges on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, confirming that a European arrest warrant was issued for the brothers last year. Romanian courts have since ordered their extradition to the U.K.
Andrew, 38, faces charges related to three women, including rape, actual bodily harm, human trafficking, and controlling prostitution for gain. Tristan, 36, is charged with rape, human trafficking, and actual bodily harm in connection with one woman. The Tate brothers were detained in Romania in late 2022 and formally charged last year with participating in a criminal network that allegedly recruited women to Romania and sexually exploited them.
Both brothers have denied all allegations. Andrew has claimed that prosecutors lack evidence and that there is a political conspiracy to silence him. The case continues to unfold as legal proceedings move forward.
