Off-Duty Border Patrol Agent Shot in NYC After Robbery Attempt by Illegal Alien

An off-duty Border Patrol agent was shot in the face during a robbery attempt by an illegal alien in New York City on Saturday evening. The agent, who was sitting with a female companion near the Hudson River in Fort Washington Park, was approached by two men on a moped. One of the suspects, Miguel Francisco Mora Nunez, an illegal alien from the Dominican Republic with prior felony arrests and a deportation order, fired shots at the agent, hitting him in the face and arm. The agent, miraculously surviving the attack, returned fire and wounded Nunez. Both the agent and the suspect were taken to the hospital, with the agent expected to survive after undergoing surgery. The other suspect remains at large.
The Department of Homeland Security confirmed the incident, stating that the agent is in stable condition and that the wounded suspect, an illegal alien with a history of violent crimes, was in custody. DHS also released footage of the attack. The incident highlights the dangerous consequences of open border policies and the risks faced by law enforcement, even off-duty.
