Iran Launches Missiles at U.S. Base in Retaliation for Nuclear Strikes

Iran fired missiles at the Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, a key U.S. military hub in the Middle East, in response to recent U.S. airstrikes targeting Iranian nuclear facilities. Qatari air defenses successfully intercepted the missiles, with no reported casualties. A Defense Department official confirmed the attack, stating that both short-range and medium-range ballistic missiles were launched from Iran.
The U.S. Embassy in Qatar advised American citizens to shelter in place amid the heightened tensions. Secretary of State Marco Rubio had earlier warned Iran that retaliation would be a "terrible mistake," emphasizing that the U.S. possesses capabilities Iran has yet to see.
This development follows President Donald Trump's announcement of successful strikes on three Iranian nuclear sites, including Fordow, Natanz, and Esfahan. Trump declared the attacks a "spectacular success," stating that Iran's nuclear enrichment sites had been "completely and totally obliterated."
The situation underscores the ongoing tensions between the U.S. and Iran, with the latter rejecting nuclear talks and continuing to fund groups like Hamas. The U.S. remains committed to monitoring the situation and preparing for further escalations.
