Hamas Propaganda Video Shows Starving Israeli Hostage Digging His Own Grave

Hamas recently released a chilling propaganda video featuring Israeli hostage Evyatar David, who has been held captive in Gaza for over 200 days. The footage, taken last February, shows David in an emaciated state, marking days on a calendar where he received no food. He is also seen digging a ditch in a narrow tunnel, which he has been told will serve as his burial site.
The video, cleared for publication by David’s family, aims to pressure Israelis to demand the government prioritize hostage releases, potentially halting military operations in Gaza. Clips of starving Palestinian children are interspersed with images of David, who appears severely malnourished, with his ribs and bones clearly visible.
The footage also includes statements from Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir, who have opposed aid to Gaza. The video ends with the message, “They eat what we eat. They drink what we drink,” though David and other hostages are reportedly given far less sustenance than their captors.
The graphic content has sparked international outrage and raised concerns about David’s current condition. It remains unclear whether he is still alive, as he may have died since the video was filmed. The release of the footage underscores the brutal tactics employed by Hamas to manipulate public sentiment and extract concessions during the conflict.
