Iran Launches Sejil Missiles at Israel in Historic Escalation

Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the launch of Sejil medium-range ballistic missiles at Israel for the first time in recorded history. These missiles, with a range of up to 2,000 kilometers, are highly maneuverable and difficult to intercept, significantly bolstering Iran’s strategic capabilities.
The IRGC stated that three Sejil missiles—each capable of reaching speeds of Mach-13 and carrying a 700 kg warhead—were launched during Operation True Promise 3, targeting key Israeli military installations, including Mossad headquarters and air force bases. This marks a stark shift in Iran’s approach, moving away from relying on proxy groups like Hezbollah and Hamas to direct military confrontation.
In a warning to Israeli residents, the IRGC advised civilians to remain in shelters, stating that missile attacks would be continuous and intense. The operation reflects Iran’s growing boldness in confronting Israel, signaling a potential escalation in the ongoing regional conflict.
