Israel Launches Military Operation Against Iran, Targets Nuclear Facilities and Commanders

Israel announced on Saturday that more than 20 Iranian military commanders, including high-ranking officials, have been killed in Operation Rising Lion, a military campaign launched early Friday. The operation targeted Iranian nuclear sites, nuclear scientists, and military leaders, signaling a significant escalation in tensions between the two nations.
Iran responded with a barrage of ballistic missiles, some of which penetrated Israel's missile defense system, causing casualties and injuries in central Israel. Fox News reported at least one death and 50 injuries in Israel, while Iranian officials claimed hundreds injured and over 70 killed.
Among the Iranian commanders killed were Gholamreza Mehrabi, head of Iran's Intelligence Directorate, and Mohammad Bagheri, commander of the IRGC's Surface-To-Surface Missile Array. Iran also claimed to have shot down two Israeli jets, capturing a female pilot alive, though Israel has not confirmed these claims.
The exchange marked a dangerous escalation in the long-standing conflict between Israel and Iran, with both sides suffering losses and casualties.
