Bipartisan Effort to Release Epstein Files Gains Momentum

In a rare display of bipartisanship, Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA) have filed a discharge petition to bypass House leadership and force a vote on releasing the "complete" Epstein files. The move comes after the Department of Justice (DOJ) published a memo concluding that sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein died by suicide in 2019 and that a federal investigation did not uncover a "client list." This has sparked controversy and divisions within the Republican Party under President Donald Trump.
Massie and Khanna are co-sponsoring the effort to compel the DOJ to release any information it has regarding the Epstein files. "We all deserve to know what’s in the Epstein files, who’s implicated, and how deep this corruption goes," Massie wrote in a post on X. "Americans were promised justice and transparency. We’re introducing a discharge petition to force a vote in the US House of Representatives on releasing the COMPLETE files." Khanna echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the need for accountability and transparency in the matter.
The bipartisan push reflects growing demands for answers about Epstein’s connections and the extent of potential corruption. If successful, the discharge petition could bring the issue to the floor for a vote, bypassing leadership and giving members of Congress an opportunity to address public concerns directly.
