Minnesota Assassin Vance Boelter Arrested After 48-Hour Manhunt

A multi-agency task force arrested Vance Boelter, the suspected Minnesota assassin, on Sunday night in the woods near Green Isle, Minnesota. The operation concluded a nationwide manhunt that began Saturday when Boelter allegedly shot Minnesota Democratic Sen. John Hoffman and his wife Yvette. Both survived the attack at their Champlin home. Boelter then traveled to Democratic House Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman’s home in Brooklyn Park, where authorities allege he killed her and her husband Mark while posing as a police officer. During the manhunt, Boelter’s vehicle was found abandoned in Sibley County, near the intersection of Minnesota Highway 25 and 301st Avenue in Faxon Township. A separate vehicle resembling a police cruiser was discovered at his residence. Neighbors reported hearing gunshots early Sunday morning, and his cowboy hat was found in the area. Boelter was tracked into the woods by authorities. When a drone spotted him, he surrendered, walking toward officers in a SWAT vehicle. His capture marked the end of a nearly two-day pursuit, bringing closure to a chilling spree of political violence.
