ICE Facility Attack: Ten Suspects Charged in Texas

Ten individuals were arrested and charged with three counts of attempted murder of a federal officer following an attack on a Texas ICE facility, where one police officer was shot in the neck. This marks the second attack targeting ICE officers in Texas within a week, occurring just weeks after violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles. According to the Department of Homeland Security, assaults against ICE officers increased by 413% last month, a trend linked to rising anti-ICE rhetoric from Democrats.
The suspects, believed to be members of a North Texas Antifa terror cell, allegedly carried out the attack on the Prairieland Detention Center in Alvarado, Texas, on July 4. The facility houses immigration violators awaiting deportation. The attack began with fireworks being shot at the building, followed by vandalism of vehicles and a guard structure. The disturbance was designed to draw ICE officers out, leading to a police officer being shot in the neck. Another suspect fired multiple rounds at unarmed corrections officers.
The suspects fled but were later apprehended. Authorities recovered body armor, ammunition, masks, spray paint, and a flag reading “Resist Fascism. Fight Oligarchy.” The suspects, dressed in black, military-style clothing, face up to life in federal prison if convicted. Another suspect is charged with obstruction of justice for attempting to destroy evidence. The wounded officer is expected to recover.
