Trump Rates U.S.-Russia Summit as a 'Ten' Out of Ten

President Donald Trump has praised his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin as a "ten" out of ten following their summit in Alaska on Friday. The talks focused on efforts to end the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, though neither leader provided specifics on the outcomes of their discussions. Trump emphasized the need for a second meeting involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, though Putin has so far refused to participate in such a trilateral discussion.
The summit took place at Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson in Anchorage, where Trump and Putin were greeted with a display of U.S. airpower, including a B-2 Spirit bomber and four F-35 fighter jets. The two leaders held a joint press conference but did not take questions from the media.
Despite the cordial tone of the meeting, protests erupted in Alaska, with demonstrators denouncing Putin's invasion of Ukraine and criticizing Trump for engaging with the Russian leader.
Trump returned to Washington without securing the ceasefire he had sought but plans to meet with Zelenskyy at the White House on Monday to negotiate a broader peace deal. While Trump expressed optimism about the progress made during the summit, he did not provide details on how the talks would impact the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.
