Leavitt Highlights Economic Growth Under Trump Administration

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt recently emphasized the strong economic performance under President Donald Trump, dismissing concerns as unwarranted "panic." Speaking at a press conference, Leavitt pointed to positive indicators, including wage growth outpacing inflation and inflation remaining stable at 1.9% annually.
The July inflation report, which beat market expectations, showed the consumer price index rising 2.7% year-over-year. Leavitt highlighted declining prices for everyday goods, with energy costs falling nearly 10% and egg prices dropping 20% since Trump took office. Shelter inflation, a key driver of overall inflation, reached its lowest level since October 2021.
Wage growth for American workers has consistently surpassed inflation, with real wages increasing 1.3% over the past year. Small business optimism also reached a five-month high, further underscoring the administration’s economic success.
Leavitt urged Americans to trust Trump’s "America First" agenda, asserting that critics—whom Trump has labeled "Panicans"—are proven wrong by the data. "Ignore the Panicans and trust in President Trump," she said, emphasizing the administration’s commitment to lowering costs and boosting incomes for American families.
The White House remains confident that Trump’s policies are driving economic prosperity, with tariffs generating billions in revenue and wages continuing to rise. As the administration celebrates these achievements, it reinforces its message that the "America First" agenda is Making America Wealthy Again.
